Every portrait tells a story

By , October 18, 2008 12:14 pm

Great portraits tell a story about the subject. [not suggesting these are great portraits..]

Stone Throwers
This photo could suggest “civil unrest” as two rough and ready rioters prepare to throw stones at an authority figure (me!), or maybe just “out for a walk”.

Ellie
This may invoke the idea of “innocence”. But anyone who really knows a three year old knows better.

Sisters = Friends
The story here could be, “sisterhood is great”, “good friends”, or “perfect kids”. Yeah, that’s nice.

The story here could be… “the truth”.

The other side of the story..

Waiting

Waiting, originally uploaded by Troy And Naomi.

While we were waiting to board our airplane to Jamaica (after a 5 hour delay) I noticed this elderly lady sitting in the sun. She looked very tired and likely had been delayed too. I believe her family were Italian. I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this lady. This is probably my favorite portrait I have taken.. other than of my kids of course.

The Wedding of Kevin Coolidge and Heidi Graydon

This has been a busy wedding summer around here.. This past weekend I was the photographer for the wedding of a couple of friends and former students here at the Bible Institute, Kevin Coolidge and Heidi Graydon. It was a very happy and joyful wedding, and I really enjoyed being there to photograph it. Congratulations Kevin & Heidi!
